The other day I was doing a bit of reading and I came across an article that emphasized how negativity in your life can impact you and how bad it really is for you. Reading the article, really took me back years when I was a victim to this too. How negativity in my life was affecting me and how it created so many problems for me.

It took me down to a place where I really was not sure of myself. It created doubts, it took away my self-belief, and most importantly it took me away from my goals. You should not let this happen to you.

I know you cannot really do anything about the negativity around you. You really can’t make it stop. However, you sure can change the impact it creates in your life – all that is needed is a little change in mindset which will help to drive you more, keep you more motivated and most importantly it will help to turn things around for you.

One of the main things that you should start doing is to show yourself some self-love. No matter what other people are saying, no matter the amount of negativity they bring with them – you should NEVER let it affect you.

I know this is easier said than done. This will need a lot more self-realization in order for you to really cope with negativity around you. But with a little practice and perseverance, all can be achieved.

However, before you do – you should understand why we should not let a negative mindset affect us.

Alright now that we have that out of the way, let’s get into how you can practice to start giving yourself some self-love and in return how it can help you become a better person.

1 – Fill Up On Positivity

Each day as we wake up, we have a thousand possibilities that can happen during the entire course of the day. Things can be good, things can be bad. What matters is that how you let these things affect you.

You can choose to react in any way you want. It’s up to you. However, I assure once you start to take things positively, you will see things turn for the better. You did not get to your fitness goals in time? Your favorite jeans does not fit you anymore? The grocery store was out of your favorite fruit?

I know I know, the common reaction would be to feel pissed and angry and even frustrated. However, taking things positively, using these events to motivate yourself more will have a much different effect.

And as they say, falling down is part of life but getting back up is living. So don’t let all these setbacks bring negativity into your mind. Get back up and positively take all these things in your stride.

2 – Always Reward Yourself

One thing I have seen many women do is that they don’t reward themselves enough. You have to be proud of yourself, proud of everything you do and proud of everything you achieve.

It does not matter if your rewards are small or big – the important part is to reward yourself. I mean, you have been going to the gym all 5 days of the week – it’s okay to reward yourself with a cheat day at the end of the week.

Keep on rewarding yourself for all the challenges you overcome in life. It’s the steps you take to really care for yourself that matter. You deserve it after all.

3 – Keep A Self-Love Journal

Keeping a journal can be like keeping a record of all your thoughts – sort of like a conversation you have with yourself. This journal can be anything you want it to be. It can be where you write down all your achievements, it can be something you use to vent out and blow steam whenever you are a little down.

No matter what it is, it’s okay.

It’s okay to let it all out because one thing I know from experience is that sharing your feelings is always good for you as it can help to bring positivity in your life.

Everything you do has its effect on you. Negativity causes a chain reaction that affects all of us in many ways. So look at yourself in the mirror and don’t just look to see all the flaws. We all have imperfections but what you need to do is identify the incredibly strong and amazing woman that you are and were always meant to be.

Learn to appreciate yourself, you have always deserved it.
